Nigel initially decided to focus the business on the restoration and development of the iconic Jaguar E-Type, a car he grew passionate for whilst working as part of the Demon Tweeks race team, some years previous.
In the following years, the business continued to expand, adding more clients and cars to its portfolio, prompting a move to a larger premises in North Wales in 2010. This move saw Nigel’s wife Michelle and son, Dan, join the family business. Michelle, with a background in banking, has since run the business’ accounts and plays a huge role in the day to day running of the business. Dan, following in his father’s footsteps, has shared the same passion for four wheels since his childhood and wanted nothing more than to be part of the growing family firm.

VMS Pre ‘66 Spec race car – built to our latest front running specs. Eligible for Peter Auto 60’s Endurance, Masters Gentleman Drivers and many more.
Both options are available to be customised to suit any particular requirement/ specs.

VMS are looking to hire a vehicle restoration technician to join the team on a full or part time basis. This role entails the involvement in full and partial builds of ‘Period correct’ and ‘Restomod’ Jaguar E- Type road cars.

We are a relaxed, hard working and talented group with an extensive background in classic road and race cars, a speciality being the Jaguar E- Type.

Requirements:
– A high level of attention to detail is key to maintain the pride and reputation of VMS builds.
– Self motivation and the ability to manage key stages of each project is required to ensure positive progress throughout.
– An extensive knowledge on mechanical systems to diagnose and rectify issues.
– Good teamwork skills to work in a friendly working environment.

Eligible for Masters Pre-66 Gentleman Drivers, Equipe Libre, GTSCC, Peter Auto 60’s Endurance & Goodwood Members Meeting where this car has been a previous competitor.
‘300 DOU’ was originally built by marque specialist ‘VMS’ in preparation for the 50th Anniversary of the Jaguar E- Type and has been a regular front runner ever since. Benefitting from a great driver pairing with its current custodian, the car has always received many updates to ensure competitiveness.
Steel monocoque with aluminium closing panels, Koni double adjustable shock absorbers, Salisbury LSD and large Dunlop brakes fitted to front and rear. Latest Spec Bellinger Moss gearbox. Proflex bag fuel tank in date until October 2025. Tillet B6 trimmed in beautiful tan leather dated until 2026, Lifeline harness dated until 2026 and fire extinguisher next service due April 2025.
Alloy block 3.8 full race spec engine with sand cast carburettors and ‘VMS’ spec BC Fabs stainless exhaust system, complete with capacity certificates for MRL, Masters & MSUK. Producing over 350 ft. Lbs of torque, the engine is very strong. 10 hours since rebuild.
Over the winter, the exterior of the car was fully repainted, and the diff was rebuilt.
HTP Papers – Expiry 2033.
Spare set of wheels and additional rear exhaust silencer included.
